The promotion of the 32nd America's Cup in Europe was achieved thanks to the creation of an itinerant village that crossed Europe.
The traveling America's Cup Village was organized in Porto Cervo, Milan, Santa Margherita Ligure and Viareggio.
The America's Cup Motor Home containing expository and interactive materials to convey to visitors as much information as possible about the participants and the history of the America's Cup was, together with other structures, the heart of the Village that attracted hundreds of thousands of people to each location who, thanks to the images and interactive activities, learned about and appreciated the oldest trophy in the history of sport.
The promotion of the Port America's Cup of Valencia was carried out in all the main seaside locations to reach boat owners, inviting them to spend a period with their boat in Valencia during the regattas.
From Valencia city Guide
Since Valencia was selected as the host city for the 32nd America's Cup, the Consorzio Valencia 2007 has taken on the main task of remodeling the port of Valencia to make it the best setting for the sailing event.
The result of this reorganization is the Marina Real Juan Carlos I, a large space where there are meeting places of public and recreational spaces where in the future culture, sports and leisure can be combined.
The Marina Real is located in the heart of Valencia, north of the commercial port and along the Malvarrosa beach, where there are numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs along the promenade.
Veles e Vents
Veles e Vents is a minimalist building with a surface area of ten thousand square meters, composed of horizontal platforms that provide shade on the terraces where spectators and guests for the America's Cup will be located.
The building stands on the channel of the Port America's Cup and serves as a visual link between the Mediterranean and the city of Valencia. All the teams that have participated in the America's Cup have passed under Veles e Vent every day with their boats and any of its four floors offers a splendid view of the entire port.
David Chipperfield explained that his intention was to create a building that would be "exciting, where people could meet to enjoy the America's Cup, so the idea that the project could create shade was important, so that spectators would be as comfortable outside as they would be inside".
Bases
Each of the bases is assigned to one of the teams participating in the 32nd America's Cup. Built around the Port of Valencia, these buildings become a stopover for yachts and the supply of these, but are also a workplace for all members of the team.
These are twelve modular buildings easy to assemble and disassemble, each of these of different sizes (minimum size 35x70 m) that had all kinds of services (offices, canteen, gym, terraces, etc ...) and a docking area for auxiliary boats, to facilitate the daily work of the staff.
